Beyond the Bachelor's: an inspiring journey to academic excellence and personal growth

Caitlin Studer, originating from the tranquil town of Whakātane, made her way to Auckland in pursuit of broader prospects. She recently completed her Bachelor of Business, specialising in Property, a field she has been passionate about since her early years.

Like many, Caitlin’s university journey was altered by the pandemic, exchanging bustling lecture halls for a virtual classroom. Despite these challenging times, she embraced the change and found Massey’s online learning experience equally rewarding.

“The virtual learning platform at Massey University has proved to be just as beneficial. I feel great accomplishment graduating with some of my closest friends from secondary school,” Caitlin shares.

Family support has been an indispensable part of Caitlin’s academic journey, providing her with a solid foundation to overcome all obstacles. Her university experience imparted valuable lessons, including the essential practice of beginning assignments ahead of time - a pearl of wisdom for our current students. Caitlin juggled her academics and remained an active part of the Massey University Volleyball team, through which she extended her network across campuses all over New Zealand.

When not engrossed in her studies, Caitlin can have a fun night out with friends, spend quality time with her adorable piglet, Charlotte, or engage in a thrilling competitive volleyball game.

However, Caitlin’s academic journey doesn’t halt here. This coming July, she is all set to embark on her Master in Management - Marketing at Massey, enthusiastically ready to immerse herself further in her education.
