Kia ora from Massey’s Vice-Chancellor
One of my highlights this year was attending our graduation ceremonies in Auckland, Manawatū and Wellington. After COVID-19 cancelled last year’s events it was a privilege to celebrate our graduates kanohi ki te kanohi, face to face. As always, it was a thrill to witness the joy, pride, inspiration and mana as our students got the chance to revel in their academic success and celebrate with those who have supported them on their journey – their teachers, family and friends. Congratulations to all of our 2022 graduates.
Just because your time studying at Te Kunenga ki Pūrehuroa Massey University may be over, as alumni, you will always be part of the Massey whānau. We hope you continue to engage with us through the alumni community and our expansive global network of graduates.
Our alumni continue to be outstanding on the world stage, and we are proud of the contribution that each one of you are making, whether in Aotearoa New Zealand or abroad. While your time at Massey may only have been short in the scheme of your career, we hope you consider us part of your legacy, just as you are part of ours.
The end of the year is fast approaching, and I hope you will have the chance to celebrate it with some rest, relaxation, and reflection. That’s certainly my aim for the summer! I look forward to seeing the mark our alumni will make in 2023!
Ngā mihi nui,
Professor Jan Thomas
Massey University Vice-Chancellor
