Kia ora,
As we journey through the heart of 2023, it’s time to pause, reflect on the year’s highlights thus far and anticipate the exciting prospects the latter half offers. We can’t wait to share more with you, from captivating alumni stories and dynamic campus updates, to enriching alumni benefits.
We’re excited to share a fantastic achievement - Massey has ascended in the most recent Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings! We now stand at an impressive 239th position globally, up from 292nd, and are proud to be recognised as the third in Aotearoa New Zealand, a climb from our previous fifth place. Our academic reputation has made a noteworthy jump to 286th globally. Furthermore, our commitment to sustainability, international research network, and successful graduate employment outcomes have not gone unnoticed as we rank 58th, 215th, and 157th, respectively, in these new QS indicators.
As a university with strong global connectivity and an intensive research focus, it is our pleasure to showcase the remarkable journeys of our PhD alumni in this edition. These Massey graduates have left their mark in their respective disciplines, sparking transformative changes far beyond geographical boundaries. Their narratives aren’t solely about their accomplishments; they also encapsulate the power of education, the relentless pursuit of knowledge, and the substantial global impact each individual can make.

We trust these narratives will inspire you, stoke your curiosity, and remind you of the extraordinary community you are an integral part of.
