In New Zealand, more than 1 in 3 children are overweight or obese, and 2 out of 5 children do not get enough physical activity. Schools play a vital role in children’s daily routines and are essential in addressing these health challenges.
Professor Ajmol Ali, a renowned expert in Exercise Science at Massey University, will present the latest findings from the Healthy Active Learning initiative and discuss how we can better engage with our children, find fun ways to get them moving and create good habits for their lifelong wellbeing.

About the speaker
Professor Ajmol Ali: Dr Ali started at Massey University in 2003 and is currently a Professor of Exercise Science. He specialises in themes like paediatric exercise science and wellness in the workplace. As the International Director of the College of Health and Director of the Beverage Lab, he’s at the forefront of innovative health solutions. When he’s not advancing health science, he stays active in football and enjoys coaching his children.
