Introducing the Massey Alumni to Student mentoring programme

A valuable opportunity for students to be matched with mentors from the vast network of Massey University alumni.

How the programme is structured

The programme is designed to be flexible so mentees can work towards their professional development goals, while fitting with the mentor and mentees’ busy schedules. The majority of mentoring will take place online allowing mentors and mentees to connect even if they aren’t in the same location. The programme will run during the academic year, from March to October. While the programme is designed to be flexible, monthly topics with supporting reading materials will be provided to stimulate conversation.

Student Mentees

The Alumni to Student Mentoring Programme (ASMP) is designed for students who want assistance transitioning into their career. The programme will allow mentees to improve their workplace skills, broaden their networks, test their ideas and gain insights into their industry. The programme is open to students from all three Massey University Campuses and those studying via distance, who are in the final year of their undergraduate or postgraduate study programme. Placement in the programme is by application. Applications will be judged on quality of responses, and involved in extra-curricular, voluntary and community activities will be advantageous.

It is important to note that this is not a work experience programme or a recruitment tool and students should not expect to obtain employment from the programme.
